About Kickin' it with Kayla

Kayla has been line dancing for over five years, with her very first line dance being “Country Girl Shake.” Through her teaching, she brings that same lively spirit to learners of all ages—from children to college students to grandparents—ensuring everyone feels confident and welcome on the dance floor.

As the Founder and former President of the SJSU Line Dancing Club, Kayla has led weekly student sessions and taught across a wide variety of settings including church events, graduation parties, university socials, community gatherings, and larger-scale events. Her inclusive teaching philosophy is rooted in the desire to foster a fun and welcoming community that promotes self-growth, confidence, and inclusivity that extends beyond the dance floor.

Equipped with an MBA, Kayla blends her organizational and leadership skills with an unwavering passion for dance. She deeply values how line dancing creates joyful experiences, inspires creative self-expression, and allows people to build meaningful connections whether they're dancing with friends, family, or colleagues. In Kayla's eyes, every dance step is a chance to bring people closer together.
